Autumn 1 - Go with the flow!
The children have been learning about rivers and the water cycle in this unit of learning.
In Design & Technology we designed, made and evaluated our own biscuit boxes
Autumn 2 - Full Steam Ahead!
Our focus throughout this unit of learning was the Victorian era. In design and technology we have been learning about mechanisms. We have made our own levers and linkages.
We have also designed our own moving books to share with Key Stage 1 children. Our books are all about steam engines and they have levers to show how the inventions move.

We have learnt about Japanese Haiku Poems and created our own inspired by Christmas. We practised and performed them in front of the class.

We enjoyed pulling crackers, telling jokes and eating our yummy Christmas lunch in the classroom!
Spring - Passport to the World!
In our unit of learning this term, we will be finding out all about continents, countries and capital cities.
In Art, we have been looking at a famous painting by an Italian artist called Pintoricchio. In the images below we are drawing through careful observation to create continuous line drawings.
We enjoyed colour mixing and creating our own painted paper to make collages from. We have also developed our understanding of the process of printing and learnt about Henri Matisse.
World Book Day 2022
We really enjoyed dressing up as our favourite book characters. We spent the day making books and writing our own stories.
We also had an opportunity to share stories and make book recommendations too!
In Geography, we have learnt about human and physical features. We created our own 3D maps of Switzerland and enjoyed working collaboratively.
In Design and Technology, we have been learning how to safely prepare vegetables. We also enjoyed tasting them and using our senses to decide our favourites.
