Class 3/4R

Welcome to 3/4R's Class Page!

We have been busy having lots of fun in all areas of our learning. Take a look at all the exciting things we have been up to.

In English we have been looking at The Egyptian Cinderella. We sequenced the familiar story of Cinderella and then acted out a part of that story in small groups.

In maths we have been looking at times tables! We have been recapping our 2s, 5s and 10s as well as learning our 3s, 4s, 6s and 8s!

We were so excited to make our very own Canopic Jars! The children used clay to create the shape they wanted and their knowledge of Egyptian Gods to design the head of the jar. We even made organs to go inside!

We have created our own fabulous artwork remembering those who have fought for this country. We used water colours to produce the background and block shapes to create the figure of the soldier.

We have worked so hard to create a piece of Egyptian collaboration art. Drawing around ourselves and turning our outlines into Gods and Goddess. We worked well in groups and managed to create a piece of fantastic artwork in the process!

During Science Week we went down to the Byes to do Kick Sampling. We found so many interesting creatures in the water and used the classification sheet to see what they were. It was so much fun getting wet and being in the water.

Year 4 have the amazing opportunity to go to Heatree Activity Centre every September and this year was no exception. We had such a brilliant time being outdoors and in the MUD! If we weren't muddy we were soaking wet. We explored the area by having a wonderful walk on Dartmoor where we played games along the way.In Bush craft we made dens for animals, drank hot chocolate and made delicious Banak bread. Our first full on activity was Low Adventure where we got so muddy! We had to crawl through mud and find our way through a maze. Then there was kayaking! We had to use so much energy to beat the other teams and by the end everyone was tired...but not too tired to jump into the lake!

We are always looking for adult readers to come in to read with the children. Please let me know if you or perhaps a grandparent would like to help with this. It would be greatly appreciated!
